But fortunately, dreams are meant to be fulfilled.
With correct work according to the anatomy we will be able to maximize our training on the chest muscles.
Brief anatomy:
- The pectoral muscle is one large muscle [PECTORALIS MAJOR] with three muscle fibers in different directions.
- All three are connected to the sternum bone which is located in the middle of the body.
- And all three reach the humerus.

- Upper fibers will work more in a bottom-up lift like an incline bench press.
- Medium fibers will work more on bench press without incline or cable fly.
- Lower fibers will work more in a top-down lift, such as a cable fly for the lower chest.
Note: all chest fibers will work, especially in bench pressing without an incline, but in order to maximize the training on the chest it is important to emphasize all fibers.
